Today is the last day of school - hooray! To celebrate we had a local jian bing vendor come into to provide us with a breakfast pancake. The pancake is made using dough on a round hotplate, to which is added egg, a sweet brown paste, chilli sauce, coriander, chives, pickles and a crispy savoury cracker. So delicious!

I love this restaurant, they have branches all over Shanghai. They do the best soup dumplings 小笼包 (xiao long bao) and all their food is just so clean and fresh.
This last weekend I was out and about in my old neighbourhood in the French Concession visiting my favourite green tea shop. While I was walking along XiangYang Lu I took some photos of the beautiful tree-lined street which is full of interesting shops.
I can't believe that I have lived in China so long before trying bubble tea! Today one of the Mandarin classes order bubble tea to school and I tried my first cup. It's delicious! Below is a milk tea menu. On the menu you can see information about the options for sugar, ice and the size of the tapioca balls that you want. |
